Create, send, and save announcements

The Announcement feature facilitates the host/presenter to publish an in-room announcement (Pinned at the top of Attendee Chat) for all the users inside the room. It is also displayed as a Lower Third if the event has started. A certain duration can be set to make the lower third disappear. Finally, the announcement plays a small audio notification along with visuals.

In Action
Step 1: Creating an Announcement

- Click the Chat button at the upper right-hand (stripe) if it is not expanded
- Below the chat headers click the + button next to the "Create your first announcement"
- You will then see the Announcement creation panel (see the image 3 below)
- At the top, you get the list of saved announcements. If you previously saved an announcement, then click this dropdown box to select and send an announcement.
To delete a saved announcement, select it from the dropdown and click the Recycle Bin button - The textbox under the header "Announcement" is where you type or copy/paste the announcement text
- Select a color or keep the default (Black)
- Select or type the Time (in seconds) to keep the announcement lower third displayed (at the bottom left of the webinar room)
- If you are planning to save it instead of sending it, click Save. Otherwise, click Send.
- At the top, you get the list of saved announcements. If you previously saved an announcement, then click this dropdown box to select and send an announcement.

Step 2: See How it Works

Step 3: Using it with Storyboard Items
Slides module includes a sub option to send an announcement as soon as it is launched. When you add a slide to the Storyboard, in the very last step, you get an option to create an announcement (see below).

Step 4: Viewing Reports

To download the chat transcript from the report,
- Log in to the Flow dashboard
- Click the Past Events tab
- Find the event (event card) that you want to extract the report and click Report
- Locate the "Chat" section in the report
- Click the Announcements tab
- View or Download Announcement CSV.
