Chat can be used as another means of in room communication.
This module includes Chat and Announcements.
- From the Admin page > Modify Room Settings, you can:
- Configure general chat settings, including privatizing chat, security, history settings, personal private messaging, etc.
- Select chat position from four predefined positions.
- Watch our feature update video for more.
- Select announcement mode and position including side-by-side.
- General Chat options include:
- Show a welcome message
- Show when someone types (...)
- Formatting fonts, privatize or disable chat for all, etc.
- The color picker. includes predefined colors list. Click here for custom colors.
- It also supports sending announcements, and audio notification for host/presenter messages (attendees can mute this).
Actions for submitted messages: Options for submitted messages open when clicking to the left of the chat entry. The options from the left are,
- Copy
- Private Reply
- Share for all (in this chat)
- Share to the 2nd public chat tab
- Share to private chat of hosts/presenters
- Delete.
Change Chat Position on the Fly
Announcements
- Create, send to all and save announcements.
- Announcement Options include:
- Support for web links.
- Formatting the content and background.
- Automatic removal timer.
Other Options
Audio Chat
Your Attendees can be given access to record and send audio messages using the optional Audio Chat feature. These messages adhere to the same rules as other chat messages, and can be moderated and screened as needed. Click HERE to learn more about Audio Chat.
Linking Documents and Websites in Chat
The Chat Module can also show hyperlinks to files located in the Documents folder, as well as to external. Click HERE to learn how to share links from the documents folder during upload or after.

Place Chat and Announcement Side-by-side
Configuration
- Log in to the admin page
- Click Modify Room Settings
- Click the room's name from the list to open configuration (if there are more than one room)
- From the list, find "Room Functions"
- Under the Announcement Mode, select Side by Side
- Save the changes.
